H.C. Andersen: Life as a Fairytale
You will hear the story of a poor boy from a provincial town who became famous throughout the world, drank tea with the king himself and made friends with the creative elite of Denmark and all of Europe. And he simply loved to travel. You'll learn where Andersen studied, how he began to write, what inspired him, whom he loved, who he made friends with, and where he traveled. You'll hear true stories from the author's life, see bits and pieces of Andersen's Copenhagen, the houses where the writer lived, the places where he visited friends, the streets where he strolled and found ideas for his work, his favorite corners in the city.
You will learn what Andersen had to go through to shine on the starry firmament, how he defended the right to be himself and live the life he deserved. You'll get a sense of how Andersen perceived the world and, and maybe you'll catch a piece of his creative imagination, too. You'll hear the poems of the great poet and explore what else to read from the master besides the well-known fairy tales. And among the tales you will discover something new. Well, are you ready to plunge into the complex but still magical world of the writer's soul?
